Golf carts are the primary choice of transportation on Harbour Island. The unofficial estimate for number of golf carts on the island is over 800. Another unofficial source stated there were "over 3000 registered carts."There are many sizes to choose from depending on your transportation needs. Many rental places will offer the "7th day free" when renting on a weekly basis. If you are on a budget, fill the tank up at the government boat dock before returning the cart.

Certain details are worth paying attention to before reserving and accepting a cart - does it have a windshield, is it a newer rather than older cart, does it have working lights, horn, emergency brake, etc. Don't be shy about asking to take a cart for a short spin before accepting it. Ask for a better cart or maybe look for another vendor if you are not happy with what you are renting. Above all, be sure to always drive on the left side of the road and take your keys with you when you leave the cart.
