Located on “Girls Bank”, on the eastern shore of Harbour Island, "Lone Tree" is one of the more famous photo images in the Bahamas. According to local inhabitants, this large tree washed down from a neighboring cliff during hurricane Andrew in 1992. The sturdy tree naturally laid to rest in an upright position. Nothing is more beautiful than seeing the turquoise water creep in around the base of the old tree during high tide, especially when the sun sets in the calm blue ocean background.
